West African Integration

I recently spent the summer in West Africa, traveling from California to immerse myself in the vibrant culture. I explored local foods, learned the Twi language, and discovered serene beaches and hidden waterfalls.

This journey enabled me to forge meaningful collaborations with local entrepreneurs, sourcing raw materials for Nourish Mii products. Connecting directly with the communities that produce our organic ingredients was a profound experience, and we are thrilled to support local businesses while honoring the origins of these natural substances.

During my visit, I partnered with Mr. Clifford Asare, a respected faculty member in the Medicinal Herbs and Plants department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He introduced me to several indigenous plants known for their anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial properties, perfect for wound cleansing.

In expanding my travels, I crossed the border to Cote d'Ivoire. Our cocoa butter is directly imported from Ms. Luce, a local woman business owner and founder of CoopBel, a cocoa plant in Toumodi, Ivory Coast.

Additionally, our cold-pressed coconut oil is harvested from the coconut farms of Dr. Sahmen Mensah, an optometrist and owner of the Sahmen Coconut Resort in Ghana's Eastern Region.

The shea butter is sourced from a northern Ghanaian spa owner who has relocated her business to the capital, Accra.

This collaboration not only enhances our product line but also uplifts the local economy and promotes sustainable practices.
